A technical workshop was organized by the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (Czech Republic) on October 18 and 19. The workshop started with a presentation by the Automatic Control research group of the university. The presentation highlighted historic and actual projects and current research directions of the research group. I-MECH partners Gefran and the university of Brescia, both from Italy, also presented a brief introduction into their research directions and problems of actual interest. The first day concluded with a visit to various laboratories of the university of West Bohemia, including the robotic/mechatronic lab.
The second day featured a presentation on approaches for "hardware-in-the-loop" simulations, approaches to PID-autotuning and repetitive control. Other topics of the day were approaches to vibration damping and a visit to the robotized BIO lab.
